Chinese Embroidery

I have long been interested in the needlework of China (particularly double sided embroidery) for a very long time.  I would like to share with you some links that I have come across.  The use of colour; the symbolism and the materials used are exquisite.  One of my favorite books on the subject is: The Art of Oriental Embroidery History, Aesthetics and Techniques by Young Y. Chung.

A fellow adoptive parent, Stephanie Morgan had the good fortune to visit the Hunan Embroidery Institute while in China.  She has graciously given permission for me to share some photos with you.

So brew some tea, sit back and enjoy some web surfing as you explore this fascinating art form.
